Do you need to re-write your CV?

Your CV is a crucial document -it is your first opportunity to impress prospective employers and therefore it must be excellently written and tailored to clearly represent you, as an individual, coupled with the job description.

Did you know that errors on your CV can cost you the job? In fact a recent study indicated that 47% of the recruiters who took part said that they would reject a CV if it had just one spelling mistake on it! This is why it is so important to pay very close attention to detail so that it reads concisely, professionally, articulately, and free from spelling, punctuation and grammar errors.

It is often difficult to spot mistakes in your own CV. Perhaps you rely on one of the many spelling and grammar programs  available, but I know from experience that they frequently fail to pick up on the incorrect usage of words for example the word “manger” instead of “manager”.

As your marketing tool, your CV must detail your own unique skills, competencies and experiences.
